Mount Etna Captured Between Malta’s Tallest High-Rise Structures In Captivating Photo

A Maltese photographer captured a stunning picture of Mount Etna in between Mercury and Portomaso Tower yesterday morning.

Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano, entered a new eruptive phase last week.

The image was taken by photographer Franco Aloisio yesterday at 9.45am from Żurrieq.

The picture beautifully frames the volcano alongside the Sicilian Hyblaean mountains and coast, with Malta’s tallest buildings prominently in the foreground on each side.

Thanks to the excellent visibility, an oil tanker is also visible next to Portomaso Tower in the photo.

While Mount Etna can be seen by the naked eye under the right conditions, it requires a trained photographer with the right skills to seize such spectacular moments.

Have you ever seen Mount Etna from Malta?
