It was reported on Monday that the Titans have been shopping RB Derrick Henry. While many Eagles fans may not be too comfortable with the idea of trading for a 29-year-old running back, it appears as though Vegas feels differently.

NFL Odds: Derrick Henry to the Eagles?
Who’d have thought? The Philadelphia Eagles are currently the favorites to trade for Derrick Henry if the Titans do decide to move on from the dominant running back.
It wouldn’t be the first time that the Titans decide to trade one of the best players in the NFL to Philadelphia (*cough*, A.J Brown). Tennessee is scrambling to free up cap space and trading Henry would give them an extra $6M to play with. But would the Eagles be a logical destination?
In a dream scenario, absolutely. it’s a very Howie move providing that the value is here. Granted, Roseman isn’t the biggest fan of paying running backs and tends to defer to a committee of younger backs & veterans on prove-it deals. But if they can snag one of the most dominant downhill runners of this generation for one year, and potentially rework that $16M cap-hit into a more manageable one, then why wouldn’t he?
By this point, Derrick Henry has proven his worth as an NFL running back. He had 1,538 rushing yards last year despite missing games due to being forced to carry the ball over 20 times per game. He’s had a 2,000-yard season and is clearly one of the best running backs the league has seen this decade.
If he wants to win a ring, running behind that Eagles offensive line might just be the perfect spot. His workload would be lighter due to the rushing ability of Jalen Hurts and versatility of Kenneth Gainwell, and he would have a better line opening holes for him. The wear and tear on the veteran would be lesser, which is probably another driving catalys at this point as far as landing spots go.
The Eagles may struggle to make the initial cap-hit work, but if it can be restructured (and there’s nobody quite like Howie Roseman to manage that task), then the Eagles might just be the best fit for Derrick Henry. We know that Miles Sanders is a pending free agent and if Roseman still believes the Super Bowl window is open, this could be a move worth making.
