At the heart of this, Malta’s young talents will get the chance to train like pros, participate in Benfica’s tournaments in Portugal, and even score internships at their top-notch academy. It’s like Malta just hit the football development jackpot!

And for those who need a reminder: Sport Lisboa e Benfica holds the record for being the most successful Portuguese club ever, having won 85 titles both domestically and internationally. They have an impressive 38 league titles under their name at home, and they are one of just 13 teams worldwide to have won the UEFA Champions League more than once. More than 260,000 people are Benfica Official Members, and millions more follow the team’s performances globally.

The Mediterranean College of Sport is set to be the stage for this exciting venture, boasting facilities that’ll make any athlete’s heart skip a beat, think football pitches, multi-sport pavilion, sports performance centre,  swimming pool, and more all nestled within the St Aloysius Sports Complex in Birkirkara.
