Sports4Kate, an event dedicated to five-year-old Kate Ferriggi and her wellbeing will be taking place on 5th May, and is open to the general public for a fun-filled day of sport.

Kate has been diagnosed with Tatton Brown Rahman Syndrome, a rare condition which requires her to attend four hours of physiotherapy everyday after school. Despite the long hours of therapy, Kate approaches each day with a smile, and remains cheerful.

The Sports4Kate fundraiser will help Kate carry out her treatment and therapy abroad within the coming months, and will also help fund research on her condition.

The event will take place on 5th May, from 9am to 5pm at the Marsa Sports Complex. It will incorporate several different sports, such as boxing, long jump, yoga, volleyball, running, hockey, kickboxing and more.

SportsMalta, who will be helping to host the event, stated they want to promote the importance of sport while also helping Kate.

“Everyone attending will have the opportunity to explore and practice all the mentioned sports in one place and be encouraged to continue participating in one of them,” they stated.

Entertainment will also be available, with a range of singers who will be performing.
