Events and media company SBC is expanding its presence in Malta by opening an office on the island. This move underlines the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the iGaming hub, which for the past six years has hosted one of its events, the Casino Beats Summit.

While the CasinoBeats Summit debuted in London in 2018 and held its second edition in the British capital the following year, 2019 marked a significant change with the Summit’s expansion with a version in Malta. Furthermore, 2019 also saw the start of the first “Malta Baby” party, highlighting the company’s growing commitment to the Malta-based iGaming community.

Since the inception of the CasinoBeats Summit, the event’s growth trajectory has been remarkable, as evidenced by the increase in the number of delegates, with an expected 4.500 attendees at this year’s event, scheduled to take place at the InterContinental Hotel from 21 to May 23rd.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC, said: “Malta holds a special place as the hub of iGaming, which is why it is also the destination of the CasinoBeats Summit. Many of our customers and friends call Malta home and it is important for us to further strengthen our links with the community.”

SOHO The Strand, the premier corporate co-working center where Malta-based employees will be located, welcomed its first members in October 2019. With a sleek Scandinavian-inspired design spanning four distinct levels, this center offers a plethora of services. From a sauna and gym to an on-site bar and restaurant, members’ lounge, play area, terraces and more, it offers the perfect blend of work and play.

“When we were looking for an office, our priority was to choose an environment that was ideal for networking and a great base for our Malta team members, who have so far been working remotely. We’ve partnered with SOHO to host meetups before, but becoming a member ensures that our meetups will be even more frequent, so stay tuned!” added Sojmark.

Currently employing 130 people and expanding globally, the new Malta office will operate alongside SBC’s established offices in London and Manchester. With members of the sales, relationships and content marketing teams located across the island, the company has a strong presence of client-facing roles in the Malta office:

Ivan FilettiCEO GamingMalta, welcomed SBC to his country: “Malta’s status as the ‘Home of Gaming Excellence’ owes much to the caliber of thought leadership events held on our shores. SBC’s CasinoBeats Summit embodies our fruitful collaboration, which advances industry expansion locally and globally. We are thrilled to learn of their decision to establish operations here, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a strong connection with Malta throughout the year. This move highlights Malta’s central role in the gaming ecosystem and strengthens our position as a leading destination for thought leadership and collaboration in the gaming industry.”

As of May 2, the office began its activities, three weeks before the 2024 edition of the CasinoBeats Summit. SBC invites companies already part of the SOHO community to visit and say hello to the Malta team at Office 19, located on Level 3 of the Strand.

SBC will celebrate the office opening during the Official Networking Party at Infinity by Hugo’s on Wednesday, May 22.
